Zach McGinnis moved to San Jose, CA and began working with the Almaden Valley church on 1 February 2020. He was born in 1987 (qualifying him as a "Millennial") in Terre Haute, IN and was raised in Tunnel Hill, IL . He is the oldest of four children born to Michael and Patti McGinnis, and his upbringing can best be described as conservative -- both socially and morally speaking. He was baptized into the Lord's church in the summer of 2001 and has been an active Christian since. He received an Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees from John A. Logan College in Carterville, IL. He moved to Folsom, California in 2014, where he studied under the mentorship of David Posey and the eldership at Folsom church of Christ, from June 2017 through December 2019. When he's "off the clock" you will find him exploring the great outdoors, playing any sport, or reading a good book. In terms of preaching philosophy and style, Zach whole-heartedly subscribes to the conviction shared by Paul in his first letter to the church at Corinth, chapter nine, and verses twenty through twenty-three:
"To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though not being myself under the law) that I might win those under the law. To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (not being outside the law of God but under the law of Christ) that I might win those outside the law. To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel, that I may share with them in its blessings."
